Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif held meetings with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah in Kabul.

   Afghan media reported that senior Afghan officials were also present in the meeting. 

Afghan Chief Executive, Abdullah Abdullah, in his tweet said he met with Army Chief Gen Raheel and discussed issues pertaining to peace and security. 

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif had arrived in Kabul on a day-long visit for deliberations on resumption of the Afghan reconciliation process and instituting a border management mechanism.

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa tweeted that the Army Chief had left for Kabul with sincerity and optimism for better border management and peace process in Afghanistan.
